The way we live, work, eat and experience entertainment has forever changed in the wake of the recent lockdown. However, we humans are adaptable and ready to change our habits to accommodate the new social distancing regulations.
Socialising and eating out is a favourite pastime of South Africans and the popularity of Central Square before the lockdown proved that the citizens of Pretoria love going out to a restaurant to enjoy a meal, a few drinks and a get together with friends and family.
Central Square’s restaurant owners have put on their thinking caps and devised innovative and fun ways to facilitate a new way to enjoy eating out, helping people change their habits to ensure safety and enjoyment.
Thankfully, Central Square has a large open-air space, wide-open aisles and lots of room to implement social distancing. The management has introduced safety protocols at the entry and exit of the centre and restaurants have put safety measures in place that will ensure that patrons can enjoy a delicious meal while keeping safe.
Management has opened up more of the piazza to allow restaurants to create more distance between tables. The piazza is the centre’s most iconic and valuable asset at a time when fresh air and space is at a premium in other centres.
Creativity is the order of the day at Central Square’s wide array of restaurants, giving diners the ability to choose a cozy date night for two or a hearty Italian meal for the family.
The restaurants have streamlined their take-away offerings. Delivery, order and collect, and sit-down options are available at most of the eateries, providing convenience of choice. The grocery stores are also there to provide the ingredients for home meal preparation, with Woolworths, Spar, Pick n Pay and Old Town Italy catering for every possible taste.
Our coffee shops, health stores and fitness boutiques are open for business, helping you to ease back into normality. Wellness Warehouse, Clicks and Xtreme Nutrition are stocked up with health-boosting products for the winter, while Starbucks is back on its game with the best coffee in town.
Since many of us will now be working from home, Incredible Connection, MTN, Cell C and Vodacom are there to help set up your home office. If you need to exercise at home, JVL and Cotton On have you covered with your work-from-home wardrobe. Jetline will provide you with document printing and binding, UPPERcase is stocked up with the newest books, while Remax Gadgets has all the right digital gadgets to keep you connected.
One of the things we missed most during the lockdown was personal care treatments. Now you can enjoy a relaxing self-care day at The Laser Beautique or make an appointment at Cosmetic & Dental Emporium. If you are tired of laundry, well, Levingers will take responsibility for the drudgery while you enjoy coming out to enjoy the fresh air and open spaces at Central Square Menlyn Maine!
