Central Square Menlyn Maine is home to the Nephrology Centre of Excellence. It contains two main practises, that of Dr Heleen Bierman (Nephrologist) and the dialysis unit of Tshwane Kidney Care.

Dr Heleen Bierman qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Orange Free State in 1996 and went on to do her BSC (Hons) Aerospace Medicine in 2005 at the University of Pretoria . In 2009 she qualified as a specialist physician at the University of Pretoria and went on to sub-specialise in the field of Nephrology. She was head of the Department of Nephrology from 2011-2012.  In 2020 Dr Bierman received her certificate of Nephrology at the European Society of Nephrology. She joined private practice from 2012-2021 at Pretoria Urology Hospital, Jacaranda Hospital and Cintocare Hospital. She has overseen almost 9000 patients in the last 10 years with numerous kidney disorders, kidney transplants and dialysis patients.  She goes the extra mile to visit her patients on dialysis often in outlying areas. She prides herself at providing evidence-based nephrology care.

Tshwane Kidney Care was established in 2020 and provides professional renal replacement therapies such as Chronic Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Haemodialysis and in-hospital renal replacement therapies.
