Although currently in its early days, this market is vastly growing in South Africa with a community of individuals who recognise that one of the best ways to put a smile on Mother Nature’s face is through environmental change. 

Together with Grid Cars, Central Square Menlyn Maine has catered to this market by providing electric car charging points. Grid Cars, in partnership with Jaguar have engineered an environmentally friendly car charging point called the Jaguar Powerway with over 82 charging stations deployed nationwide. These stations can be found around Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London and Bloemfontein as well as 22 charging stations along the N3 between Gauteng and Durban and the N1 between Gauteng and Cape Town. The technology behind this allows an electrical car with 24kWh to be charged up to 80% of its capacity within 20 minutes. Now that’s definitely something to write home about!

So if you currently own a Jaguar I-Pace, a BMWi3 or a Nissan Leaf or looking to purchase one, use your ActiveCharge or Jaguar Electrifies card along with your RFID card to activate the charging station and stay on top of electricity billing to the card. Did we mention, no cash or credit card payment is required. Saving the environment never sounded so good!
