07 Sep KAMERS VOL GESKENKE IS BACK!

It was so nice we had to do it twice! Kamers Vol Geskenke is coming back to Central Square, Menlyn Maine just in time for Spring. Before the big day, here’s a little background for you.

Kamers Vol Geskenke was an idea between friends from Stellenbosch back in 2003. The idea was to create a space for creatives  and artisans to support one another and show off their work. The first show hosted 40 artisans and had 800 visitors, it has now grown to become one of Africa’s biggest markets with over 60 000 people flocking in around Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Stellenbosch.

What we love most is their ideology of supporting and sharing local creations, because local is always lekker. A platform to share ideas, collaborate and celebrate local talent is just what the creative industry needs now more than ever. 

The cherry on top is their mission to save the planet, one plastic bottle at a time. In 2019, Kamers Vol Geskenke partnered up with Consol Glass to have zero plastic packaging waste. Since we pride ourselves on being Africa’s first green city, through energy efficiency, recycling and environmentally friendly waste management this is an event we couldn’t pass up.
